Elizabeth Fox
Partner
Elizabeth Fox is a Partner at Reynolds Dawson and has over 20 years experience of the criminal justice system. Qualifying at the Bar in 1989 and transferring to the Solicitor’s profession in 1995 she joined Reynolds Dawson later that year and was made a partner in 1998. She is experienced in dealing with all types of allegations and with clients from all walks of life.
Recent cases included a number of Misconduct in Public Office offences (variously involving the use of covert devices and integrity testing as well as more conventional investigations), brothel keeping, and death in custody investigations, disciplinary hearings and inquests. In addition Elizabeth deals with other paper heavy cases such as fraud and confiscation.
She is familiar with the stresses that media intrusion presents. This often arises commonly in dealing with allegations of assault, dishonesty or allegations of a sexual nature. An acquittal frequently passes without comment in the press regardless of the previous coverage.
Elizabeth advised and represented over 20 Officers from the Metropolitan Police and British Transport Police who were variously accused of matters arising out of the G20 demonstration in the City of the London in April 2009. In relation to all those cases, only one Officer was the subject of any misconduct proceedings, and at the end of those proceedings he was retained in Service by the MPS. Elizabeth has substantial experience in advising and representing Police Officers accused of criminal or misconduct allegations where the use of force in public order scenarios is the primary, substantive issue.
Descriptions and feedback from clients include the following comments;
“The past few months or so have been a bit gloomy but your obvious assiduity, professional guidance and personable support have to been invaluable to myself and the others in remaining confident and maintaining the right perspective, especially with regard to the case's presentation at court. I would even say that you have sometimes turned what would otherwise have been an arduous process into an enjoyable one which is quite an ability to have.”
“…a sympathetic and practical lawyer”
“Just a short note to thank you, most sincerely, for your kind assistance with recent matters. Yet again Reynolds Dawson has demonstrated its commitment to providing the best advice and representation. With best wishes to you, Norma, Mr. Reynolds and all the team.”
Elizabeth is recognised by Chambers Directory as a leader in the field in criminal law.
